Guide to the perfect Minecraft Server

No one is joining your Minecraft server or many people are leaving?

there are several reasons why people may leave when joining the most common one are:

-lag

-boredom

-server is oversimplified

to fix the lag problem, limit your server render distance to around 5-10, if your server crashes way too much, try limiting the memory usage

such as turning java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui 

to java -Xmx1000M -Xms500M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

this will limit the memory usage to max of 1GB and least of 500MB

if it still continues to lag, try switching your server to a spigot one, just simply delete all the none essential files in the server

the picture below is your ordinary vanilla file 

the one below here is a spigot file

spigot servers may be faster but it will be much more buggy than a vanilla server so watch out for that

add some minigames to your server! unless its a SMP server, people don't like plain old servers, people want leaderboards, giveaways, and other players to play with! even if its SMP, it doesn't need to be plain, add mob kill counts!
