DIY cotton candy machine
cotton candy machines are really expensive but to make your own at home it could be as cheap as 2 dollars!
you will need:
-1:3 cup of sugar mixed with 2:3 cups of water
-a motor (preferably a 3v DC motor)
-a lid ( preferably plastic and 10cm wide)
- an iron bar
- lighter
1. grab the iron bar and heat it up with the lighter until it starts glowing
2. poke holes 1 inch apart around the chosen disk, the more holes the better
3. glue the disk to the motor, ideally the motor should have a disk so its easier to glue onto
4. to create the cotton candy material cook a paste 1/3 sugar and 2/3 water, boil until thick, which will take around 20 minutes
5. pour the mixture into the plate, if you are using a faster rpm motor you can pour it in slowly but if your using under 5v pour it in fast
6. put a stick beside the disk and clouds of candy should start forming on it!
the disk can be an old CD or DVD, anything that spins will work because the goal here is to spin it fast to create strings of caramel, doing it in a box will also help the strands catch onto something for it to spin out, it also prevents the strands from going all over the floor, i learned that the hard way.

ReplyDeleteimprovise and use a knife to poke holes, you can also put it on a dowel and hand spin it, in fact, it makes it fluffier
